Member's Night at the Zoo

We went to member's night at the zoo
both last night and tonight. Honestly,
it's the whole reason I buy the membership.
They had free face/arm painting, live music,
feeding times. Last night, we watched the
alligators being feed dead rats. :)

Josh and I took it of ourselves on the sky ride.

On the sky ride.
On member's night they only charge one dollar
per person for each ride including the sky ride,
the tiger roller coaster and the train.

Josh is inside the tiger holding pen where
they stay at night. Josh is pushing the very same
ball that the tigers play with while in their pen.

We also got to go behind the scenes. This is where
the keepers take care of the giraffes.

This is Tiki. I'm not sure if it's a she or
he but apparently it's aging. In the wilderness giraffes
typically live to about eighteen. Tiki is nineteen
and has arthritis. She has a special coat that she
wears at night when it's cold. I'm really impressed
at how well the animals are taken care of here.

We're already looking forward to next year's
member's night.
