1. The Hanson (my mom's maiden name) side of my family likes grilled cheesed sandwiches with strawberry preserves on top. So, do I. I like the marriage of the sweetness and saltiness in my mouth. Before you wince, you should really try it. It's quite good. Once when I was at Rick's College I took this exact sandwich and ate it with tuna. Amazingly enough it wasn't that bad.
2. I have a secret dream to be a contestant in a Pillsbury bake off. Honestly, I would be happy if I could just be in it. If I were to win the million dollar prize that would be icing on the cake.
3. I have 3 to 4 inch scars on the left side of both my knees from a bad car accident in Spain which left me in the hospital for six and a half weeks. They look like war wounds. Just to clarify, I was in the hospital because I compacted two of my vertebrae to about 50% of the size they were when the car was rolling not because of my knee wounds.
4. I like to read memoirs. I enjoyed "the house on Mango Street" by Sandra Cisneros. I want to read a new one that came out recently The House at Sugar Beach: In Search of a Lost African Childhood by Helene Cooper.
5. Every morning, I like to read my e-mails, take a shower and then eat breakfast in that order. My whole day is thrown if I don't do it that way. It's a little peculiar but I'm fine on vacation if I do it in a different way.
6. My favorite season of the year is summer. I love swimming, vacations, the warm weather, nectarines, strawberries and cantaloupe. It's the only season I feel is too short.
7. I like going out on dates with my husband. It makes me feel like I'm a real person. I enjoy eating out, going to the movies and dancing. In August, we went to the Saddlerack and that was a hoot.
