Mc Arthur Burney Falls

My family has been camping at Mc Arthur Burney
Falls for about thirty years now. It's our favorite
place to camp.

Day 1- We hiked the waterfalls loop.

Josh and Daddy taking a break from our hike.

Caleb and Daddy chilling in the hammock.

Don't let Caleb fool you. He wasn't sleeping.

Most mornings, Josh would go outside the tent
and play his Leapster.

Day 2 We decided to go out on Lake Britney.
David and Josh choose a kayak.

Itziar, Caleb and I choose a paddle boat. We figured
it was the safest bet for Caleb because of his cast.

Afterwords, we headed over to the swimming
area to have a picnic, get our feet wet, and build
sand castles.

Caleb fishing with his daddy.

Josh fishing with his daddy. This was the first
year he used real lures. Unfortunately, he didn't
catch anything. He had a good time though.

Isty reading.

Day 3- We went to the subway caves.
They're a great place to cool off on a
hot day.

A family shot in the cave.

Day 4- Fourth of July
We began the day by seeing a parade in Burney.

They let us pull our van right up to the parade.
That's where we sat. This would only happen
in a small town. Right?!

This is my favorite float in the Burney parade.
Go Smokey!

Nothing beats a snow cone on a hot, hot day!

The aftermath of the snow cones.

These girl's arranged a 4th of July bike parade
around the camp ground. Josh loved it.

After words we headed over to the high school
foot ball field for an old fashioned 4th of July
celebration with fire works.

A family shot.

A random shot of me at the party.

The had hoola hoops, a gum chewing contest and
even a water balloon toss. It was a simple and down
to earth party. I think those are the best kind.

Caleb got a piece of the action

Hanging out at the camp ground. Christina and Matt
surprised us by coming up. Unfortunately, I don't
have any pictures of them.

Day 5- Our last day
David and I were fortunate enough to take a
hike by ourselves to my favorite part of the park
by ourselves. Here's the proof.

I love this spot.

My dad and I holding up a tree:).

Good-bye Burney. You'll be in our hearts until
next year!!!
